Troubleshooting

General

  • Camera Tracking:
    • Bootle Blast automatically tracks the closest person to the screen.
    • To assist a child while they are playing, stand behind them so the camera continues to track the child.
  • In Two-Player Mode: The closest person on the left side will be player 1 and closest person on the right side is player 2.
    • Looking at the live video feed, player 1 will be highlighted blue, and player 2 will be highlighted red.
  • Camera Angle: The Persee can be adjusted up and down until it is in the optimal view of the play space.
  • Colours and Lighting:
    • For mini-games using Mega Bloks or the coloured batons:
      • Players wearing a long sleeved shirt that is either blue, green, red, or yellow (or similar) - the game may incorrectly think the player is holding a block matching the colour of your shirt.
      • If this happens, either change your shirt (if possible) or roll up your sleeves
    • The game may incorrectly recognize the colour of the block you are holding in certain lighting conditions.
      • Rotating the block in your hand and/or moving it around can help the game detect the true colour of the block.

Mini-Game Tips

War Paint

  • Remember that the speed or force of your clap does not have an effect. You only need to separate your hands, and then bring them close again for the game to fire a paintball.
  • Make sure you bring your hands far enough apart. The hands will turn white. Then you are ready to fire!

Colour Fill

  • If the player happens to be wearing a long sleeved shirt that is either blue, green, red, or yellow (or similar) then the game may incorrectly think the player is holding a block matching the colour of your shirt. If this happens, either change your shirt if possible, or roll up your sleeves
  • In certain lighting conditions, the game may incorrectly recognize the colour of the block you are holding. If you try rotating the block in your hand and moving it around, it can help the game detect the true colour of the block.
  • If you cover the block with your hand, the camera won’t be able to see it very well. Try to cover as little of the block as possible, so that the camera can clearly see its colour.

Magic Blocks

  • You can’t use the same stack once you’ve gotten points for it. If you hold up the same stack, the game will not proceed to Step 2. In this case, change at least one block in your stack.
  • The game will not see your stack if you aren’t holding it above your shoulder.
  • Try to hold the stack of blocks out in front of you, and not to the side.
  • The points you get for each stack depends upon how closely you matched what you were supposed to build. Sometimes you may have used different colours, and sometimes the game will make a mistake and not see the colours correctly.
  • If you cover the block with your hand, the camera won’t be able to see it very well. Try to cover as little of the block as possible, so that the camera can clearly see its colour.

Paint Baller

  • When the game indicates to switch hands, the cursor will slowly switch to your other hand. Be aware that your other hand will most likely be down by your side, so the cursor will begin to move accordingly. When it’s time to switch hands, get ready by bringing your other hand up and in position to minimize cursor movement. This will help you to avoid accidentally hitting a bomb while switching hands.

Bootle Ball

  • If the paddle does not seem very responsive when you rotate the baton, make sure you are holding the baton out in front of you, with your arm outstretched away from your chest. If you are wearing a long sleeved shirt with red or green (or similar) colours, try rolling up your sleeves or wearing a different shirt.

Bird Adventure

  • Remember that Bird Adventure is an exploratory game. There is no set goal or objective, so simply fly around and explore. When you are done, fly to one of the Exit portals and rest on it. It might take you a little time to get used to steering the bird with your arm flaps.

Bubble Lab

  • If the player happens to be wearing a long sleeved shirt that is either blue, red, or yellow (or similar) then the game may incorrectly think the player is holding a block matching the colour of your shirt.

Cliff Climber

  • Remember that you can only move one hand at a time
  • Make sure you hover over the grip for long enough to grab on.
  • You can’t reach beyond the lit up area around Cliff Climber bootle
